That we use and trust.
We’ve planed a lot of trips, booked many hotels and grabbed the best (or cheapest) fights over the last 2 years, and to do that consistently for such a long time, you need some great travel companies and tools to help you efficiently sift through all the information… and of course save you money.
So we decided to create a data base of travel companies you can use before you head off on your next adventure. This page is updated with travel deals to help you save money on the regular, so stop by and check before you go on your next vacation.
We also created a downloadable e-book, Free Of Charge, 11 Free Travel Tools You Should Know About. Download it now and take all the information with you wherever you go!
Peace of mind while you travel.
We buy travel insurance because the unexpected can happen and, for those instances, we want to be prepared. But not all insurance companies and policies are the same, especially when it comes to natural disasters, and it can be tricky to determine exactly what your buying into. To understand some of the more common natural disasters, what coverage is available and how to make sure your insurance will cover you, take a look at this Ultimate Guide to Travel Insurance & Natural Disasters!
Going on a trip? World Nomads Travel Insurance is one of the most comprehensive coverage plans we found with amazing rates. We faithfully use it for every trip we take, including our full-time travels!
Why buy travel insurance from World Nomads.com?

A good night’s rest is all you need.
We love using Hotels Combined! When we know what hotel we really want to stay at, Hotels Combined is the travel tool in our box that compares the prices of the room on different accommodation sites. All we have to do is choose the best price from there!
We absolutely love using Airbnb (one of our favourites). When you stay with a host from Airbnb you can create the level of comfort… you can choose where in the city or how far away from the city you want to stay; you can choose to stay with people or have your own private house/apartment, all while finding the right price that wont break the bank. Oh and let’s not forget, sometimes you might find something really cool like a luxury houseboat or tree house!
Sign up with Airbnb through our link, Airbnb, and get $20USD credit toward your first accommodations booking. If you need any help registering or setting up your profile, feel free to contact us and we’ll be glad to help!
It’s been a while since we stayed at a hostel, but back when we would occasionally stay at them, we used Hostel World. They’re also great for finding B&B’s. Hostel world helped us book a place in Beijing so we could see The Great Wall Of China and helped us find a spot in Northern Thailand so we could visit an elephant sanctuary!
Looking for great deals on accommodations around the world? We regularly find great prices on rooms through booking.com. From resorts to hostels, villas to boutique hotels, you can find a variety of different room options for your next trip! The best part is, the more hotels you review, the more you save!
Fly, drive, train, bike or walk… It’s all up to you.
Train travel is one of our favourite ways to get around! While we are in Europe we don’t hesitate to use Eurail, it’s so easy and convenient that we wouldn’t do it any other way.
Don’t listen to the media. We’ve used Uber in so many different countries, including Philippines, Thailand and Hungary. Their service is reliable, comfortable and most importantly safe. Best of all, your fair is estimated before the driver arrives so there is no confusion on how much the ride will cost.
To collect your free Uber cash, you need to use our promo code: macraes1 or else you won’t get the credit towards your first ride!
Other things you might have forgotten.
The whole reason we started our journey in Beijing was because Macrae read the Lonely Planet, Guide To China and decided he wanted to see The Great Wall Of China.
Now, when we’re headed to a new destination we always check in with Lonely Planet to find great suggestions on what to do, where to stay, where to eat and where to play… Their e-book and paperback guides are perfect when heading to a new destination and make great gifts for friends and family on any occasion!
